Janell Escobar<br>M.S. Ed., M.S., LMHC (Limited Permit)
I am a bilingual school psychologist and provisionally licensed mental health counselor with experience in supporting children, adolescents, and families in school and community settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Bilingual School Psychology from Mercy College and a second Master’s in Organizational Leadership. I am currently completing my third Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Alfred University and practicing under the supervision of Dr. Robert Henderson as I work toward full licensure.
My clinical background includes extensive training in psychological and educational assessment, along with direct counseling experience for children and adolescents managing anxiety, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and use an integrative, strengths-based approach rooted in cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and trauma-informed frameworks. I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered. I especially enjoy working with youth, families, emerging adults, and adults of all ages—offering both comprehensive evaluations and individualized therapy that honors each person’s story and potential.
